The Light Road Less Traveled

She says, "In this wood, I see light.  Do you see it too?"

He says, "I see sea, and the waves, movement that gives life to the world."

She says, "In my dreams, I practice Being, so I don't forget the way Home."

He says, "Set down your practice.  I will sing you Home."

She says, "When I pull apart the fabric of space, I can step through.  Can I hear your voice from the other side?"

He says, "My song is the fabric you pull.  Your touch gives it life.  It will follow you."

She says, "Is it strong enough to swim through the currents of desire, of sorrow, of pain, and guilt?  The wanting to be something other than what one truly is?

Is it strong enough, your song?"

He pauses.

His heart opens.

He says, "My strength is your touch. My song rides on the current of your desire.  My sorrow, pain, and guilt are my allies, forged in time, in battles both won and lost.  They are in my dreams, where I practice Being."

She says, "Then find me on the other side.  I will wait for you."

He says, "Inside, or outside, of time?"

She says, "Outside is much harder."

He says, "Outside then."
