Reiki is a healing art and a spiritual evolutionary practice, passed on from Master to student flowing from the esoteric teachings of Tendai Buddhism.  The mainspring of Reiki is an initiation called an “attunement” which empowers and amplifies the energy of the individual.

In this series, students learn the Japanese Healing Art of Usui Shiki Ryoho, the Usui System of Natural Healing, from Beginner to Master and finally Master Teacher level. This form of energy healing was founded in Japan approximately 100 years ago by Dr. Mikao Usui. It is used in the United States at most major hospitals, including The Mayo Clinic, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, The Cleveland Clinic, and many others.

In the Art of Reiki Collective, we use evidence-based approaches in a clinical setting, including Biofield Imaging, to work with our clients and ourselves. In the first of a series, your instructors will introduce you to the lineage of Dr. Usui, concepts of the Subtle Energy Body, how to live within the Reiki Principles, and why and how attunement works.

The Art of Reiki Collective teaches with respect to the original Tendai Buddhist view.  From that view, Reiki I is known as "Shoden" and covers:

  • Mudras (Gassho) for their focusing and intention power

  • Precepts derived from the Tendai Buddhist sect of Shugendo (9th Century)

  • The invocation of "the secret method to invite happiness" and "the spiritual medicine for all diseases of the body and mind"

  • Poetry as Path

  • Cleansing Techniques

  • Meditation Techniques

  • Balancing Energies

  • Sensing Energies

  • Group Healing using a Reiki Circle

  • Daily Practice

Kyo dake wa | Just for today

Okuru-na | Do not get angry

Shinpai suna | Do not worry

Kansha shite | Show appreciation - be grateful

Goo hage me | Word hard [on yourself]

Hito ni shinsetsu ni | Be kind to others

Once you have completed Reiki I - Shoden, you will have the tools necessary for Reiki II - Okuden.  The Reiki I - Shoden course is a prerequisite to Reiki II - Okuden.  Given The Art of Reiki Collective's Buddhist lineage approach, those with a Reiki I certification from another teaching group or teacher will need to take Reiki I - Shoden as a prerequisite for Reiki II - Okuden.

Friday Evening will be recorded for international students.  Saturday and Sunday involve live healings, and participants need to be in attendance for certification.

Additional information on how to prepare will be sent once the participant has registered.
